Afghan Suspected of Planning Attacks in France Arrested

Paris, Aug 5 (Prensa Latina) An Afghan, wanted by the military since last Wednesday, has been arrested by the police in Paris on suspicion of preparing an attack on French soil.

According to the police report, the individual, whose identity has not been revealed, came to the country about two months ago; an intelligence report warned about the danger he presented, thus beginning the search.

Now the investigation must determine whether the suspicions about the man are well founded, said the police.

The state of emergency is still in force following the two attacks in July; the authorities are maintaining a regime of special surveillance, which includes the deployment of several thousand troops.
