Cuba won on Thursday four medals, including the title of pole-vaulter Yarisley Silva, in the fourth stop of the Athletics Diamond League under way at the Olympic Stadium of Rome, Italy.

In the fruitful day for Cuban athletes, Silva won the gold medal in pole-vaulting, with 4.70 meters, followed by Germans Lisa Rizih (4.60) and Silke Spiegelburg (4.50), as reflected by the Web site of the International Athletics Federation.

Another winner was 18 year-old Sahily Diago, who obtained the silver medal in the 800m dash competition, with 2:00.01 minutes. Kenyan Eunice Jepkoech Sum (1:59.49) and Ajee Wilson (2:00.18), of the United States, were second and third, respectively.

The other Cuban representative in that event, Rose Mary Almanza (2:00.74), finished eighth, while her compatriots Mabel Gay and Lazaro Martinez, the two of them in triple jump, were third. In the latter, Cuban Ernesto Reve (16.86) was sixth.

The winners of each specialty at the Diamond League obtain four points in their competitions for the final prize, while winners of second and third positions get two and one points, respectively.
