The Caribbean outfielder batted 1 for 2, including a 2-run homer and a walk, in the 6-5 win of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks over the Orix Buffaloes in the NPB Pacific League and thus raised his batting average (BA) to .318 and also amounts 67 RBIs in 99 games.

The two other Cubans of the Hawks didn´t have a good day as DH Alfredo Despaigne hit 0 for 4, with 3 strikeouts and a walk, and his BA dropped to .255; while lefty setupper Livan Moinello allowed one run and two hits, with two walks and one strikeout, in 0.2 innings and his ERA rose to 1.60.

After this outcome, the Hawks, current NPB champions, remain second in the Pacific League with balance of 75 wins, 60 losses and 4 draws, one game behind the Saitama Seibu Lions and 6.5 ahead of the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles.
