If you are not with the Cuban Revolution, if you do not support all the revolutionary and emancipatory processes of the region and if you do not work on the basis of integrating what has been called the unfinished Bolivarian dream –also Martiana, Guevarista, Fidelista– there can’t be true independence.

The main problem is that, if you are not anti-imperialist at present, you can’t face development problems, you can’t face the problems of social justice, you can’t face the pending problems that our region has had since colonial times, since the first times after the independence and that under those conditions, already in more current times, the countries of the region have been very subordinate to the United States’ domination system.

And there is no room for doubt, if you are not with the Cuban Revolution, if all the revolutionary and emancipatory processes of the region are not supported and if you do not work on the basis of integrating what has been called the unfinished Bolivarian dream –also Martiana, Guevarista, Fidelista– there can be no true independence, there can be no true sovereignty, there can be no real development in the region.

In this sense, there are no intermediate points, imperialism is absolutely inflexible since it does not allow the slightest possibility of real changes in our countries that move in that direction. And it masks everything with such terms as freedom, bourgeois liberal democracy as a mechanism to enable interference and articulation, with its dollars in that same false democracy. But actually there is no possibility of really being independentist, fighting for sovereignty, fighting for social justice, for all these goals that the leaders of our countries have had and that in this case are represented by Cuba, which was the first anti-imperialist revolution, the first radical revolution in the entire Latin America.

That's why, I like it so much when some friends of the world refer to our country as "the Cuba of freedom", because precisely the imperialist propaganda says quite the opposite, that their efforts are destined to bring Cuba to freedom, when actually the propaganda of the United States is determined by subordination, imposition of the conditions that masked in such terms as freedom, democracy are committed to restore its main goal: its domination system and to carry out exploitation; it isn’t anything else.

And in the middle of this there’s nothing. If there is no anti-imperialism, there is no freedom, there is no independence, which was also called in an important historical moment of the Continental Revolution "to achieve the second independence", which has been postponed, has not been achieved and therefore, the region’s countries and peoples must achieve in their necessarily anti-imperialist struggle.

These are ideas, inexcusable purposes, of the social movements and political parties that truly feel fighters for their independence, for the values of their people, for social justice and have no choice but to be anti-imperialist.
