New Step Extends Vietnam-Cuba Economic Links

Relations between Vietnam and Cuba were extended with a new agreement signed by companies of the biotechnology sector, as a step that confirms the progress towards the objective of rising the economic relations to the excellent level of their political links.
The contract signed this week in this capital by representatives for Heber Biotec Ltd. and Duc Minh Medical J.S.C. from the AMV Group, includes an increase in the exports by the former company to this country in 2017, compared to those materialized this year.

According to reports about the ceremony in which the agreement between both sides were signed, the Cuban entity would continue supplying 10-micro-gram Heberbiovac HB, to prevent hepatitis B, for newborns and children under 10 years of age, and of 20 micro-grams, for adults.

Besides, the company will also continue exporting to this country Quimi-Hib (a vaccine against the bacterium Haemophilus influenzae type B), Heberon Alfa R, pegylated interferon PEG-Heberon, Heberitro (recombinant human erythropoietin alpha) and Hebervital (human G-CSF).

At the ceremony, representative for Heber Biotec, Mai Thao, explained in statements to the news agency Prensa Latina that the plan for 2017 would be of $4,300,000 USD, exceeding in more than one million the plan for 2016, and regarding its fulfillment, he appeared optimistic about much more effort by all the sides involved in its execution.

This year, the sales increased 36.3 percent in quantity and 42.5 percent in value, compared to the totals in 2015.
