The president of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Mogens Lykketoft, begins today an official visit to Cuba.

A report from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the senior official is expected to arrive in this capital today afternoon.

He will meet with government officials and visit several institutions.

Lykketoft’s visit here is part of Cuba's strong commitment to multilateralism, consolidation and democratization of the United Nations and the revitalization of the General Assembly, the note said.
