Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno RodrÃguez emphasized today the true intentions behind the United States' military escalation and measures to obstruct Venezuelan commerce.
"The measures of the U.S. government to obstruct the free trade of Venezuelan oil resources and persecute ships transporting fuel to Cuba are not new, nor are they directly related to the current military deployment in the Caribbean and the naval blockade against Venezuela," he stated in a post on the social network X.
"They are part of the stated objective of destroying the Cuban Revolution, overthrowing the legitimate Bolivarian and Chavista Government, and forcibly usurping the critical and strategic natural resources of the region," he asserted.
He further affirmed that it is with this goal that they intensify their daily policy of pressure and suffocation against the island, with a direct impact on the national electricity system and, consequently, on the daily life of the Cuban population.
