President Miguel Diaz-Canel said on Saturday that Cuba does not forget the causes of the world proletariat, in reference to the celebration of International Workers' Day throughout the country on Friday.

The head of State pointed out on his Twitter account that Cuba fights for a world that is more humane, “where man really learns to be man’s brother.”

Together with the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raul Castro, the president led a rally of thousands of workers who gathered on the Havana seafront to commemorate May 1 on Friday.

Similar rallies and parades were held in main squares throughout Cuba, under the motto “To the Homeland, hands and heart.”
