The Cuban cultural institution Casa de las Americas announced today its extensive program of activities for the 2023 edition of the Music Composition Prize, dedicated this time to visual music.
In order to stimulate the creative work of the new generations of composers in Latin America, the event aims to disseminate recent creations in this field and thus respond to the current creative trends in the region.
We live in a world in which the frontiers of creation are increasingly blurred, with futuristic preferences, hovering around the metaverse, and this ninth edition of the contest suggests continuing a route with the most recent musical art of the continent.
Among the invited countries, Argentina, Canada and Colombia are expected to be present. There will also be an art exhibition with more than 30 works, mostly focused on experimental compositions from Latin America.
This award is held every two years and rewards the works of multiple talents and invites participants to incorporate new technologies into artistic creation. ef/abo/mgt/dpm
