Havana, Aug 31 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Wednesday congratulated the Chief of the National General Staff of Civil Defense, Major General Ramón Pardo, on his birthday.

“Congratulations, dear Pardo. How much of a privilege we all have to continue counting on you in each battle of the Revolution. A big hug,” the Cuban leader tweeted, while the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) sent its congratulations to the guerrilla fighter who fought at the Sierra Maestra under Ernesto Che Guevara´s orders.

Cuba´s Civil Defense extended its congratulations and praised Pardo’s humble origins and his “proven loyalty to Fidel, Raul and the Cuban people”. pll/rgh/yaa
