Moscow, Jan 25 (Prensa Latina) Russian presidential spokesman, Dimitry Peskov, pointed out today that his country considers the cooperation of positions with Cuba on regional and global issues very important.
“Relations between Russia and Moscow have deep traditions, they are full of precise content, and the coordination of positions on international and regional problems, which are of mutual interest, is of utmost importance”, he affirmed according to Sputnik news agency.
The head of the Kremlin press service stressed that such position was evident the day before during the telephone conversation between Russian president, Vladimir Putin, and his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel.
In Monday´s dialogue, both presidents had an in-depth exchange on economic, commercial and investment cooperation between Moscow and Havana, said the official statement of the Russian presidency.
The Cuban president thanked the humanitarian asistance provided by Moscow to the Caribbean island to deal with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the statement said.
They also debated on the importance of achieving greater coordination of joint actions in the international area, according to the principles of strategic partnership and the traditions of friendship and mutual understanding.
The presidents of Rusia and Cuba confirmed the intention to work closely together to strengthen bilateral relations and agreed to intensify contacts at several levels.
