Vatican City, Jan 16 (Prensa Latina) Pope Francis on Sunday expressed his closeness to the people affected by heavy rains and floods in several Brazilian regions in recent weeks.

I pray in particular for the victims and their families and for those who have lost their homes, the Supreme Pontiff said in a comment at the end of Sunday’s Angelus prayer, in which he asked God to support the efforts of those who participate in the relief work.
