Havana counts on 540 new micro, small and medium enterprises out of more than 1300 such entities approved in the country to boost Cuban economy.
Out the 540 total, 496 are private businesses, 14 state-owned plus nine cooperatives.
As to the classification, 108 are micro, 226 small and 185 medium-sized companies, which are employing over 16 thousand workers.
According to their modalities, 232 companies operate in the area of services, 136 in manufacture, construction and similar activity, 84 in the production of food and 63 in information technologies, and four in the recycling area.
