Lukashenko reshuffles most of the Belarusian authorities
Minsk, Mar 11 (Prensa Latina) Belorussian President Alexander Lukashenko on Thursday highlighted the renewal of a large part of his cabinet and other authorities in the country, one of the demands from the People's Assembly, as he recalled.
The Belorussian president noted that there are more representatives of the new generations in the leading of the country and in local authorities, whom he described as 'another Pleiades of high-level leaders,' Belta news agency reported.
'Whoever says we are hardened, nothing of the sort. We have practically upgraded the entire leadership of the country from the levels of governors, the district executive committee chairmen,' he said.
He said that this new generation will be in charge of taking over and building the future of the country, 'as we decided at the All Belarus People's Assembly,' he said.
Among other top officials, Lukashenko appointed new ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economy, Emergency Situations, Defense, Energy, Justice.
He also changed the heads of the General Staff, the Investigation Committee, the State Customs Committee, and new university rectors were appointed.
