Maduro calls Venezuelans to comply with Covid-19 measures
Caracas, June 15 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro called Monday his people to comply with health and prevention protocols to fight Covid-19, during this second phase of collective quarantine.
On Twitter, Maduro stated the importance of the mandatory use of face masks and the social distancing in all local areas to prevent the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus from spreading across the nation.
Venezuela activated on June 1 the first phase of social and voluntary isolation, through a 7-day plan followed by the isolation, including 10 productive, commercial and financial sectors, among them, textile and footwear industry.
By reactivating 14 new economic sectors, the second day of easing the quarantine began on Monday, which includes the reopening of gyms and malls by respecting special health protocols, together with the reopening of sports activities with no audience.
According to data by Maduro, the isolation week was fulfilled at 60 percent, since at 16:00, local time, over 70 percent of the population was at their homes, while at 17:00, local time, 90 percent of Venezuelans remained at home.
