The astronomical event will be clearly visible in Europe, the United State east coast and almost all of Latin America, specialists state.

The most recent event of this kind occurred almost one decade ago, on November 8, 2006, and the next event will be seen on November 11, 2019.

The Institute of Geophysics and Astronomy recommends the use of an optical instrument to observe the phenomenon in Cuba.

Experts also say that the transit of the planet on the solar disk will be seen today in Havana and will last seven hours, 27 minutes and 56 seconds.

The transit of Mercury across the Sun will occur from east to west.
