The President of the Marti Youth Movement Yusuam Palacios, pointed out that the ideology of Cuba''s National Hero Jose Martí (1853-1895), is as relevant today for future generations as it was for the young people of his time.
In statements to Prensa Latina, in the context of the activities of the Second International Conference 'With All and for the Good of All',focused on the life and work of the Cuban national hero, Palacios said that Martí is a contemporary and universal being for the relevance of his thought.
Martí, he said, bequeathed on his work the tools and weapons to foresee and overcome a crisis like the one we suffer, essentially humanistic.
Because of this, Palacios believes that young people have the responsibility to bring Martí's ideas to the present.
But not only for Cuba, he pointed out, but for the entire world, because it was a global statesman and it has been recognized as such by many personalities.
The organization chaired by Palacios is involved as an active part in this international event, which takes place in the Palace of Conventions in Havana until January 28 and has brought together 700 delegates from 51 countries, which a youth forum is promoted.
Also, together with the Cuban University Student Federation (FEU, in Spanish), he invited participants to attend on Wednesday night to the traditional march of torches, which each year reminds the route drawn in 1953 by university students who honored Martí on his 100th birthday.
