Havana, May 10 (Prensa latina) Luis Orlando Rodriguez is one of the young people from the Cuban Red Cross who is working hard alongside Cuba's Fire Department to rescue the victims trapped under the rubble in Havana's Saratoga Hotel.

The explosion caused by a gas leak in the hotel on Friday prompted the swift response of this 25-year-old young man, who was at home in Havana’s Cotorro municipality.

Since May 6, he has not stopped searching for the missing people that the families are waiting for.

He told Prensa Latina that he hoped to find them alive, but if this is not possible, giving them an answer will be a consolation.

There is anxiety at home. “I live with my mother, and she is worried because this is a very serious disaster, but she is confident and happy because her son, the youngest one, is saving lives.”

I am exhausted, he confesses, “but we will not leave this place until we take out the last body.”
