Vietnamese media highlight president's upcoming visit to Cuba

Hanoi, Sep 16 (Prensa Latina) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam informed that President Nguyen Xuan Phuc will visit Cuba from September 18 to 20, and immediately local media dedicated headlines to the imminent event.
 
Vietnam News Agency (VNA) pointed out that the head of State will lead a high-level delegation that will visit Cuba at the invitation of his counterpart and first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Miguel Diaz-Canel.

Coincidentally, Cuban Ambassador in Hanoi Nicolas Hernandez Guillen visited the VNA headquarters on the occasion of its 76th anniversary and agreed with General Director Vu Viet Trang that Xuan Phuc's visit to Cuba will bring a new force to bilateral ties.

In its digital platform, Tuoi tre (Youth) newspaper recalled that Cuba was the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam, and highlighted the mutual interest in strengthening friendship and cooperation in various fields.

In addition, Tin tuc newspaper pointed out that the traditional fraternity between the two countries is also expressed in mutual support at international forums and organizations, especially in the United Nations.

According to a statement from the Vienamese Foreign Ministry, Xuan Phuc will travel from Havana to New York to participate in the 76th Sessions of the UN General Assembly.

The Vietnamese president will be in the United States until September 24, where he will fulfill a busy agenda that includes meetings with US authorities.
