Caracas, Apr 23 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela's United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) ratified on Friday the will to deepen the ties of cooperation and indestructible sisterhood with the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC).

Through a communiqué issued by the PSUV's first vice president, Diosdado Cabello, the Venezuelan main political organization sent its greetings to Cuba's President Miguel Diaz-Canel for his election as first secretary of the Central Committee of the PCC.

Diaz-Canel took over the position previously held by Army General Raul Castro, an exponent of the historic leadership of the Cuban Revolution commanded by the historic leader Fidel Castro whose legacy prevailed in the recent 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.

'With his great political capacity, his crystal-clear moral conditions, his unwavering loyalty to the legacy of Fidel Castro and Raul Castro, Diaz-Canel will be up to the huge challenge of leading the party in the face of the brutal US economic blockade, the rude interference of Washington and the harsh effects of the pandemic,' the PSUV referred.

Cabello also noted the conviction that the Cuban communists will emerge strengthened from this historic Congress on the basis of their indestructible unity with the people around the defense of sovereignty and socialism.

In that sense, the PSUV's leader highlighted the important decisions adopted by the PCC in terms of strengthening its vanguard positions in vital work fronts in times of intensification of the anti-imperialist struggle, such as ideological work, party organization and links with the popular masses.
