Caracas, Apr 12 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, on Monday rejected before the United Nations any measure aimed at limiting the financial capacities of developing countries.

During his participation in the UN Economic and Social Council Forum, the foreign minister advocated fair and differential treatment for all.

He stressed that according to data from the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the region is experiencing a setback of at least 10 years in efforts to overcome economic inequality.

'How can we talk about financing for development, if there are powers that politically use the international financial system to promote changes in governments and extermination policies, denying countries access to their legitimate resources and imposing colonial relations in the 21st century?' he stressed.

Likewise, Arreaza denounced the consequences for Venezuela of the blockade imposed by the United States and its allies.
