Caracas, Mar 3 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) are preparing today to carry out military maneuvers, with the participation of security organizations, to ensure the defense of the territorial integrity of Venezuela, military sources reported.

Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino and the head of the FANB's Strategic Operational Command (Ceofanb), Remigio Ceballos, held a meeting with the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the heads of the strategic regions to refine the details of the exercises.

The maneuvers known as the Bolivarian Shield are aimed at combating different internal and external threats, 'which, by creating false positives, seek to undermine sovereignty and territorial integrity,' detailed the Ceofanb on the social network Twitter.

These actions will integrate members of the Bolivarian Militia and police components, on a date yet to be specified.

After the announcement of the maneuvers on February 25, the Ceofanb reiterated that it maintains active and deployed the territorial defensive system throughout the country, to guarantee the sovereignty of Venezuela and combat groups that generate violence.

Chief Admiral Remigio Ceballos asserted the intention of the Bolivarian Shield exercises to demonstrate to the world the unity of the FANB with the Venezuelan people, in defense of peace and national independence.
