Caracas, Apr 20 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela will make effective its payment to the COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access (Covax) to acquire more vaccine doses.
According to official reports, more than half of the US$120 million payment requested from Venezuela has already been made to access approximately 11 million Covax vaccine doses.

On Monday, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro stressed this figure has been obtained with great sacrifice by the State, thanks to the professional, scientific and technical work of the Central Bank of Venezuela.

'Without begging anyone, without believing in false and scamming offers from the Trumpist right, Venezuela with dignity and with upright face has told the Covax system: 'The money is here.' Let´s the vaccines come,' Maduro said.

Acquiring Covax vaccine doses is the spearhead in the global effort to defeat the pandemic, Jorge Arreaza, Foreign Minister said, while describing the vaccine commodification as criminal, for which he asked to implement transparent and equitable production and distribution processes.
