More than 15 cities in the United States are holding initiatives against Washington's blockade against Cuba, a few days before the vote on a resolution against that unilateral measure at the United Nations General Assembly, it was reported on Sunday.

According to the Bridges of Love Project, one of the organizations promoting these actions against the unilateral sanctions on Cuba, there will be convoys in Miami, Tampa, New York and Washington DC on Sunday.

Along the day, events are also expected in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Atlanta, Georgia; Bloomington, Indiana; Chicago, Illinois; Los Angeles, San Francisco and Fresno, California; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; New Haven, Connecticut; Las Vegas, Nevada; Northampton, Massachusetts, and Seattle, Washington.

In such a way, they joined people in other cities of the world who are calling on president Joe Biden's government to lift measures that are suffocating the Cuban people, even in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.

These initiatives are taking place a few days before the presentation of a new report demanding an end to the US blockade against Cuba, at United Nations General Assembly on June 23.

President Joe Biden and other White House officials have reiterated that Cuba is not a priority in their agenda, and despite the election campaign's promises, they have not changed the 243 punitive measures adopted by former President Donald Trump.
