Damascus, Apr 19 (Prensa Latina) The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday rejected sending more troops by the United States and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) on Russian borders. Damascus ratifies its absolute solidarity with Russia facing this escalation that represents a serious threat to the international peace and security, the Foreign Ministry said in a communique.
Such action confirms the flagrant US interference in the internal affairs of other countries, the note says.

We reject this reckless US approach to the international relations and reiterate our absolute solidarity with our friend Russia in its measures to preserve national security and protect world peace and stability, the text indicates.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu denounced in recent days that the intensity of aerial reconnaissance by foreign forces in the vicinity of the borders has been doubled compared to last year.

Shoigu also pointed out that NATO will concentrate 40,000 troops and 15,000 pieces of military equipment near Russia's borders.
