Syria reiterates condemnation of Israeli crimes against Palestinians

Damascus, Jan 25 (Prensa Latina) The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned on Tuesday the operations of demolition and destruction of Palestinian properties in the West Bank by the Israeli authorities.

The Syrian Government repudiates these criminal actions, the latest one was the demolition of two Palestinian houses in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in East Jerusalem and the arrest of their owners, the Foreign Ministry announced in a communique issued this Tuesday.

It added that both the demolition of houses and the arbitrary arrests and seizure of agricultural lands are real crimes that violate international humanitarian law and all Security Council and United Nations General Assembly resolutions regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The note called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in protecting the Palestinian people and monitor the implementation of the international legitimacy resolutions related to the Palestinian cause and immediately stop these Israeli crimes.

The document reiterated Syria’s support to the Palestinian people and their right to freedom and independence and the establishment of their independent State on their territory and with Jerusalem as its capital.
