Symposium assesses record productions of relevant Cuban bands

Havana, May 19 (Prensa Latina) The International Symposium Cubadisco 2022 continues on Thursday with panels and keynote speeches dedicated to the information and communication technologies associated with music education, and the analysis of the repertoire of renowned national orchestras.

The online event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the New Trova Movement and the 70th anniversary of Los Muñequitos de Matanzas ensemble, includes a panel discussion on educational practices and social participation.

Also dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the International Fair Cubadisco and the 100th anniversary of Radio in Cuba, the meeting covers the record production of Aragon Orchestra, a popular Cuban band founded in 1939 and with a wide trajectory in the defense of the traditional rhythms.

Thursday’s program also includes a study of the 1976-2010 discography of Sintesis, an emblematic band defined for its ethno-fusion music and elements of the Afro-Cuban roots.

The symposium values the professional career of Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco, a band appreciated by specialized critics for its lyrics, innovative sonority and the mixture of representative Cuban genres such as son montuno, guaracha and bolero.
