For the second time, nearly a decade after his first performance at the Longina Sings to Corona Troubadour Festival, Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez joined the young and experienced voices of the event on Friday night. This took place as part of the recording of the program Entre Manos at the Camilo Cienfuegos cinema in Santa Clara.

Dedicated on this occasion to the distinguished composer of El Necio, the 30th edition of the gathering allowed him to share the stage with Marta Campos, Rey Montalvo, Annabell López, Maykel Elizalde, Leonardo García, Alejandro Valdés, Roly Berrío, the Duo Cantares, and the Trio Palabras. They performed songs by Silvio that, in his own words, must always keep being sung.

In statements to the press, Juan Carlos Travieso, the program's director and producer, explained that the tribute concert is an homage Silvio deserves, bringing together several friends and members of the public who admire him.

The documentary filmmaker highlighted that the choice of Santa Clara and the Longina Festival was not coincidental, as it was in this same city 17 years ago that the idea for this television space about trova and so-called música de descarga was born.

Travieso, who is also part of the Festival's organizing committee, emphasized the symbolic value of this recording.

For the team, he said, it is a dream that the program serves as a bridge for Silvio to be here again in Santa Clara.

He also asserted that the television space, known for its informal and intimate tone that fosters the sharing of unique emotions, thereby achieves its mission of enhancing the nation's troubadour heritage. It forges a direct link between the legacy of a fundamental artist like Silvio Rodríguez and the vibrant seedbed of young talent that converges in the capital of Villa Clara.

Beginning on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the XXX Longina Sings to Corona Troubadour Festival will extend until this coming Sunday with the firm purpose of honoring Manuel Corona Raimundo, a foundational figure of traditional Cuban trova.
