Russian Duma receives Cuban delegation

Moscow, Mar 9 (Prensa Latina) A delegation from the Cuban Public Health Ministry (MINSAP), headed by Deputy Minister Tania Cru,z was received at the headquarters of the Russian State Duma, the Cuban Embassy reported on Thursday.

State Duma Health Committee President Dimitri Kubezov met with received Cruz, who is also Head of the Health and Biotechnology Working Group in the Cuba-Russia Intergovernmental Commission for Economic, Commercial and Scientific-Technical Collaboration.

During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on the state nd prospects for cooperation in health care and the biopharmaceutical industry, the joint work of regulatory agencies and among universities of medical sciences, and the development of clinical trials.

They also evaluated the possibilities of including leading drugs from Cuban biotechnology in treatment protocols for Russians and the strengthening of scientific exchange in specialties such as oncology, endocrinology, genetics, gynecology and neonatology.

Prior to Russia, Cruz and her delegation visited Belarus, where they held meetings in the Senate and the Academy of Sciences, and talked with senior public healthcare officials and exectives of pharmaceutical companies.
