Spanish singer Rozalen will perform in Havana for the first time on May 8 at the Covarrubias Hall of Cuba’s National Theater. She posted so in her social networks with evident emotion when saying “I cry with joy…,” and “I still do not believe it.”

She was invited to participate in the Cubadisco 2023 International Fair, a Cuban video clip event that will be held until May 14 in Havana and other provinces across the country. This time, the event will be dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Cuban Music Research Center CIDMUC, the 20 years of the Colibrí record label, and the first ten years of the Cuban music channel Clave, specialized exclusively in the spreading of musical content.

As Rozalen’s live concerts follow an inclusive approach, her performance will probably provide sign-language translation. Besides the undoubtedly quality of her music, this is one of the aspects that highlight her professional career and certainly speak loud of her social commitment with minorities. Interpreter Beatriz Romero usually works with her on these occasions.

Born as María de los Ángeles Rozalen Ortuño, Rozalen is a Spanish singer-songwriter, renowned by her music filled with melody and feeling. Her songs address issues like love and society, and the confinement due to COVID-19. So far, she has released five musical albums (Con derecho a…, Quién me ha visto…, Cuando el río suena…, El árbol y el bosque, y Matriz). In addition to this, she boasts several featuring with popular artists from different art expressions.

Due to her very productive career, she has been regarded as one of the most transcendental voices among original songs, and her performance will bestow prestige on the Cuban video clip.
