Putin and Erdogan talk about Russian military operation in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin today told his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan that the suspension of the military operation in Ukraine is only possible if Kiev ceases hostilities and complies with Russian demands.
In the telephone exchange, the Russian leader stressed the futility of any attempt to postpone the negotiation process, which is used by Ukrainian security troops to regroup their forces and means, the Kremlin said.
Putin briefed Erdogan on the progress of the military operation, described the key approaches and assessments in this context and gave details about the main objectives and set priorities.
The Russian head of state said that the operation is progressing according to the plan and schedule foreseen.
Putin expressed the Kremlin’s readiness for talks with the Ukrainian authorities and foreign partners to resolve the conflict.
In the conversation, Putin voiced hope that during the next planned round of talks on Monday, Kiev’s representatives will show a more constructive approach that will take into account the emerging realities.
The Russian and Turkish presidents expressed the importance of maintaining contacts between the diplomatic and military departments of the two countries.
