President Andrés Manuel López Obrador denounced today that the United States Pentagon spies on Mexico and the anti-narcotics agency (DEA) distributes information to conservatives.

In his morning press conference at the National Palace, when questioned about the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice not to allow wiretapping without his authorization, the president took the opportunity to address the latest clashes with his northern neighbors.

He defined the differences between intelligence as national security and espionage for other purposes and said that the Government's duty is to protect its information for national security, including the secretariats of Defense, the Navy and the National Guard, in relation to "leaks" published by the American newspaper The Washington Post of discrepancies between these entities.

He assured that the United States Pentagon and DEA were spying on Mexico, and the latter distributes information and supplies it to the conservative Mexican press. He also mentioned the magazine Proceso, which according to him, works with many of those materials.

He reiterated that the government will take care of the information for national security and in defense of Mexican sovereignty, and argued that there are government powers established by law in the sense that everything considered national information must be protected.

He once again denounced the conservative businessman Claudio X Gonzáles, who continues to receive money from the United States, and discredited the Supreme Court of Justice and the Judiciary in general. This, he stated, is acting against the Government because they do not want the 4th Transformation, since their privileges would be eliminated and there is a lot of corruption within their apparatus.
