Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of Panama, musicians like Romulo Castro will pay tribute on Wednesday to Cuban singer songwriter Pablo Milanes, who died in 2022. The Balboa Theater in this capital will host the concert "Eternamente... Pablo" (Eternally... Pablo), in which performers like Valeria Obando, Natacha Gomez, and Jose “Pepe” Calderon will participate.

Local artists Tatiana Rios and Miroslava Herrera will also perform versions of Pablo’s songs.

The organizers stated that the concert would be in charge of six musicians directed by Alfonso Lewis and his Freelatinsoul Band.

Deputy Culture Minister Gabriel Gonzalez said this concert is a well-deserved tribute that Panama has prepared for Milanes, who left a profound impact on the lives of generations of Latin Americans and the world with his voice, lyrics, and melodies.

A founder of Cuba’s New Song Movement, alongside Silvio Rodriguez and other musicians, Milanes left a repertoire of memorable titles, including “Yolanda,” “Comienzo y Final de una Verde mañana” (Beginning and End of a Green Morning), “Los Males del Silencio” (The Evils of Silence), “El Tiempo Pasa” (Time Passes), “La Soledad” (Solitude), and “Flores del Futuro” (Flowers of the Future), among many others.
