Colombo, Sep 10 (Prensa Latina) Sri Lanka has crossed the 10-million mark in administrating the two doses of Covid-19 vaccines since the vaccination program rolled out in late January.

Sri Lanka´s Epidemiology Unit reported that as many as 10,211,537 people have received the two anti-Covid-19 shots, according to the Daily News newspaper.

In addition, the toll of people vaccinated with at least one dose jumped to 13,264,806.

On the other hand, the vaccination program for people aging from 18 to 30 will be started shortly, according to health authorities.

However, the Sri Lankan government has decided on extending its current curfew through September 21.

Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella stated that given the toll of Covid-19 cases are constantly lowering, the Government is confident that Sri Lanka will be able to reopen its doors safely.

Sri Lanka has so far reported 477,636 Covid-19 confirmed cases, 10,864 deaths and 409,628 hospital recoveries.
