Nicolás Maduro congratulates Cuban people on election day

President Nicolás Maduro congratulated the Cuban people and his counterpart Miguel Díaz-Canel for the successful election day to choose lawmakers to the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament), whose final results are expected this Monday.

We celebrate with great rejoicing from the Bolivarian homeland, the heroic demonstration of the people of (José) Martí and Fidel (Castro), with a resounding majority participation of millions of Cubans in a virtuous electoral day,” according to a press release.

The text underlined that this contribution reassures the “firm and vigorous support for the revolutionary project, example, inspiration and guidance for the peoples of Our Latin America, the Caribbean, and the world.”

On behalf of the Venezuelan people and Government, the note reaffirmed to Cuba, the fraternal solidarity and relationship commitments” between our peoples, whose historical destiny is to go through the ages together, flying the same flags for a better world.

Over 8 Million Cubans had the rights to vote on Sunday. Over 75 percent voted positively for the 470 lawmakers to the National Assembly of People’s Power(Parliament).
