Managua, May 29 (Prensa Latina) Nicaragua recorded Monday a 46 percent export growth to China this month, reflecting the early harvest agreement between the two countries still in force since May 1st.

According to Nicaragua’s Minister of Industry, Development, and Commerce, José Bermúdez, statistics show that the shipment of goods to China went from 1.1 to 1.7 million dollars in May.

These exports focused on oils, fats, edible offal, and seafood, including fish, shrimp, lobster, and sea cucumber.

The early harvest agreement is seen as a prelude to a possible Free Trade Agreement, and analysts say it represents an opportunity so that Nicaragua increases exports to China.

The agreement enables marketing goods at zero tariffs between the two countries and provides Nicaraguan producers and businesses with a large consumer market.

Beijing is willing to strengthen bilateral relations with Managua to promote pragmatic cooperation and share development opportunities.
