Ramallah, Sep 2 (Prensa Latina) The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Commission revealed that 273 Palestinians served sentences of 20 or more years without interruption in Israeli jails.

The entity specified in a statement that another 23 inmates were added to the list last August.

38 of them, known by Palestinians as “generals of patience”, have been detained for more than 25 years, and 17 of them have been imprisoned for three decades.

Weeks ago, four non-governmental organizations revealed in a joint statement that Israeli security forces arrested 3,873 Palestinians in the first half of 2022.

The report was produced by the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Commission, the Palestinian Prisoners Society, the Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association and the Wadi Hilweh Information Center.

In July alone, 375 people were detained in the occupied territories, including 28 minors and two women, they said.
