Mexico is ready for 8th Independent Audiovisual Exhibition

Mexico, Oct 23 (Prensa Latina) Mexico is currently preparing the 8th edition of the Independent Audiovisual Exhibition of Xalisco, MIAX 2020, scheduled from October 31 to November 29, with works from 22 countries in Latin America, Europe and the Middle East, according to organizers.

MIAX 2020 hosted over 700 independent films between feature films and short films, of which 118 productions completed the official selection to compete in the animation, experimental, documentary and fiction categories.

The film event, which will take place under the health requirements imposed by Covid-19, diversifies its face-to-face offer with the reduction of attendees to 30 percent in the exhibition halls, virtual modalities and open-air cinema.

For the first time, the film event will include venues in two states of the country, five municipalities in Jalisco and one in Michoacan, as well as the Cabañas Cultural Institute, Autocinema del Lago and the La Piedad School of Arts.
