La Paz, Oct 21 (Prensa Latina) The Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) consolidates on Wednesday its victory in the first round by obtaining 54.5 percent of the preference, with almost 90 percent of the votes computed by Bolivia's Supreme Electoral Court (TSE).

The candidate of the socialist political party, Luis Arce, maintains a difference of 25 points with respect to the Citizen Community (CC) alliance, whose candidate Carlos Mesa accounts for 29.8 percent, according to data released on computo.oep.org .bo website.

Meanwhile, the candidate of the ultra-right-wing 'Creemos' coalition, Luis Fernando Camacho, has 14.1 percent of the votes.

The law establishes that to win in the first round, 50 percent plus one of the votes must be obtained, or at least 40 percent with an advantage of 10 percentage points over the second most voted.

The Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) must issue from this Wednesday to Thursday the official results of the elections past Sunday when the count ends.

The MAS won in three of the five departments that have already closed the count: Pando, Chuquisaca and Oruro; and CC won in Tarija and Beni.
