La Paz, Jun 3 (Prensa Latina) The lawmaker from the Movimiento Al Socialismo (MAS) party of Bolivia, Juanito Angulo, reiterated the demand of justice for the corruption attributed to the coup government of Jeanine Añez.

The people call and ask to set a precedent in the Constitution taking as basis on the 'Tear Gas' case, among others, Angulo said on TV this morning.

For almost a year, between November 2019 and October 2020, Añez's regime dedicated itself to raiding the vaults of the State to sate its personal interests, Angulo denounced on Bolivia TV.

'It can't be that Bolivians get robbed during such a difficult time as is the Covid-19 emergency', the politician pointed out, and stressed that Añez's executive must be subjected to an investigation and sanctioned if there is proof of corruption.

The detention of former Government Minister Arturo Murillo in the United States, along with his head of cabinet and three businessmen from a firm that was contracted for the supply of 'tear gas' and less-than-lethal munition (aka 'rubber bullets') during last government, led to resuming the legal process in Bolivian soil.

The congressman considered that this belies the idea of political persecution by the MAS that has been promoted by the opposition, since it proves that the current administration just wants to enforce the laws and justice to be served.

The Ministry of Justice and Institucional Transparency on Monday published the list of 17 former ministers of the Añez administration who were summoned by the Prosecutor's Office to make statements in relation to the signing of three supreme decrees used for the purchase of tear gas at overprice.
