Italian filmmaker Walter Uliano Pistelli, resident in Bolivia, confirmed today his participation in the virtual forum parallel to the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) on Human Rights in Cuba, scheduled for November 15.

“I consider it important that, for the first time, solidarity activists are organizing this type of meeting in parallel to the UPR of the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council”, he stated in an interview granted to Prensa Latina via Internet from Cochabamba.

“I am grateful for the invitation of the International Coordination for Human Rights to intervene in this Zoom meeting scheduled for this November 15 at 17:00 (Lima, Peru time), according to the summons,” said the filmmaker to this news agency.

Descendant of a partisan who fought against Mussolini’s fascism in World War II, Pistelli is the director of the documentary Che Guevara in the 21st Century, made up of two feature films of 80 minutes each.

The first part, entitled Hijos de la Revolucion (Children of the Revolution), and the second, Ser Revolucionario (Being Revolutionary), reflect the testimony of descendants of martyrs who fell alongside the guerrilla commander, of survivors of that heroic deed and of other personalities who fought and worked alongside Che.
