Ramallah, Sep 11 (Prensa Latina) The Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the PLO Saeb Erekat warned on Friday that there will be no peace or stability in the Middle East region as long as Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories lasts.

Peace will only come when the occupation ceases, and we can form our independent State with the borders prior to 1967, such are the premises supported by the international community, insisted the representatives of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), quoted by the Wafa news agency.

Erekat noted that the Deal of the Century presented by the US in January had as its main aim to legitimize the annexation to Israel of lands belonging to that Arab people, as well as the apartheid policy maintained by the Zionist government.

We will never give up our rights, emphasized the leader in statements to local press.

Referring to the recent encounter of the Arab League, the PLO leader underscored that all the clauses of the draft agreement presented by the Palestinians were approved.

According to Erekat, at the meeting, there were controversial opinions about the deal, negotiated by Washington, between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Tel Aviv to normalize their relations.

It was a hard blow, he said, a violation of the Arab Peace Initiative (API), which proposes to normalize ties with Israel after its withdrawal from the occupied territories-West Bank, including East Jerusalem and Gaza.

The deal has provided a very important opportunity to relaunch the two-State solution, something that a few days ago was not at all conceivable, said UAE Deputy Foreign Minister Omar Ghobash, explaining the implications of the event to Emirati media.
