The president of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, ratified that the Islamic republic will maintain its demand for the complete lifting of the punitive measures imposed on it by the United States.

'We demand a total, practical and immediate elimination of these sanctions, following the policy designed by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei,' he said.

An Iranian mission is holding negotiations in Vienna, Austria, with the signatories of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or nuclear agreement, in search of saving that pact, which came to be considered a milestone in international diplomacy.

The United States abandoned the agreement in May 2018 and reimposed measures lifted by virtue of the agreement between Iran and the 5+1 group (United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia and China plus Germany).

The Iranian representatives at the meeting in Austria reaffirmed that if these coercive measures disappear, the Islamic republic will return to the origins of PIAC.

For the time being, Iran responded to the US policy of maximum pressure with maximum resistance, but it never violated the nuclear agreement, because its decisions are protected by Chapter 36 of the consent.
