Tehran, Jan 7 (Prensa Latina) Iran called on the world community to condemn the assassination of nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhizadeh, and described that action as inhumane, illegitimate and criminal.

According to Iranian Minister of Defense Amir Hatami, Tehran reserves the right to respond to that crime, which the international public opinion must repudiate.

Hatami noted that silence over a terrorist act will encourage more criminal behavior and contribute to global insecurity.

The minister revealed that there is serious evidence on Israel's role in the fatal attack on Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, one of the country's main nuclear scientists.

Hatami sent a letter to his counterparts from 60 countries, in which he described in detail the terrorist operation and information on the involvement of Israel's espionage services in the selective assassination of Iranian scientists.

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was shot to death on November 27 on the outskirts of Tehran. He had been deputy minister of Defense and head of the Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research of the Iranian Ministry of Defense.
