Industriales Threatens the Top in Cuban Baseball Series
especiales

The Industriales of Havana crushed the Las Tunas Lumberjacks 11–1 today at the legendary Latinoamericano Stadium, climbing to second place in Cuba’s 64th National Baseball Series.
The Blue Lions were on fire at the plate: Dayron Miranda was the standout performer, going four-for-five, including a home run and a double that sent the crowd into a frenzy. Yosvani Peñalver also sent one over the fence, while the Lumberjacks ran out of both wood and wind.
From the mound, Carlos Manuel Cuesta pitched with composure and precision over five innings to earn the win, while Anier Pérez didn’t survive the fourth, undone by a relentless offensive surge that practically sealed the game.
The result not only gave the capital team a statement victory—closing the gap to just a game and a half behind the league-leading Holguín Cubs—but also pushed Las Tunas and Matanzas down the standings in a tight race that promises fireworks until the end.
Other Results Across the League
Elsewhere, the Mayabeque Hurricanes continued their strong run with a 3–1 win over Villa Clara, powered by a three-run homer from Dennis Laza in the first inning and a stellar 7.2-inning performance from José Ignacio Bermúdez.
Meanwhile, the Sancti Spíritus Roosters edged Camagüey 2–1; the Cienfuegos Elephants trampled Ciego de Ávila 16–4; and the Pinar del Río Vegueros knocked out the Guantánamo Indians 11–1.
The day concluded with the Artemisa Hunters walking off the Santiago Wasps 6–5, and the Granma Stallions galloping past the Isle of Youth Pirates 10–6.
At the Latinoamericano, meanwhile, the Blues celebrated—because, as the saying goes, “when Industriales awaken, Cuban baseball trembles.”
