Agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) shot and wounded two civilians on Thursday in a residential area of Portland, according to local police confirmation.

Police officers in Portland, Oregon, were notified about an unidentified man and woman injured by gunfire. Upon arrival, they confirmed that two ICE agents were possibly involved, as stated by the police department on its X account.

The two gunshot victims had to be taken to a local hospital, with no details available regarding their health status.

For its part, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) published a statement on X confirming that ICE agents were involved in the incident, but the post was later removed from the platform.

Local authorities have not yet provided details about the circumstances of the shooting. However, Portland Police Chief Bob Day asked the public to "remain calm."

The incident occurred 24 hours after an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Good in Minneapolis—a case that has sparked a series of protests against the actions of federal agents and the policy of President Donald Trump's administration. These policies have led to similar clashes that have claimed the lives of at least seven people in recent months.
