Former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said that former Judge Sergio Moro, who sentenced him without evidence for alleged acts of corruption, evades the debate on Saturday and he would like to confront him in an possible election race.

'If they want to launch Moro (as a presidential candidate in 2022), they should launch him. I am not concerned. (Jair) Bolsonaro must be too,' the founder of the Workers' Party (PT) said in an interview with radio stations from Feira de Santana, in Bahia state.

Lula accused the former judge of the Lava Jato (car wash) operation of 'writing on a small piece of paper' the reason for his conviction, and denounced Prosecutor Deltan Dallagnol for accusing him without arguments in a PowerPoint presentation.

Despite his willingness to participate in an election race with the former justice minister, the former metallurgical leader said that the PT, and not Lula, will decide who will run for the presidency.

'Talking about ourselves is very difficult. I will be more than 70 years old in 2022. I am taking care of myself because I want to live long. The PT and its allies will decide who runs for president... The party decides. I will never say I will be the candidate,' he stated.

About the 2018 elections, in which his candidacy was blocked, Lula replied that a victory at that moment could have started a silent revolution.
