London, Jan 13 (Prensa Latina) The Campaign for Solidarity with Cuba in the United Kingdom (CSC) on Thursday mourned the death of Argentinean activist Alicia Jrapko, who highlighted her unrestricted support for the people and government of the Caribbean island.

The organization, which brings together thousands of British friends of Cuba, recalled in particular Jrapko’s work demanding the release of the Cuban five arrested in 1998 and sentenced to lengthy is on terms for fighting terrorism, and his fight against the US blockade of Cuba.

Alicia helped facilitate visits by British trade unionists to Gerardo in Victorville prison, she recalled the CSC, alluding to Gerardo Hernandez, one of the Five, as they were known internationally.

She also evoked the visit that the well-known activist made to London in 2014, to participate in the International Commission for the Liberation of Cuban anti-terrorist fighters.

It was a privilege to work alongside such a committed, compassionate person, the CSC said in a statement signed by its director, Rob Miller, and Natasha Hickman, head of communication.

Jrapko died the day on Wednesday at California, after battling a vicious illness for two years
