Paris, Jun 30 (Prensa Latina) The Film Festival began in France with theaters and various public spaces dedicated to the Seventh Art, a sector in full recovery from the impact of the health crisis caused by Covid-19.

The celebration will take place from June 30th to July 4th and will feature long-awaited films, all at a single price of four euros, screened in museums, subway stations, airports and other facilities, in addition to movie theaters.

Cruella, a comedy directed by Craig Gillespie starring Emma Stone and Emma Thompson; the second installment of the suspense A Quiet Place, starring Emily Blunt; the third in the successful horror saga The Conjuring; the French comedy The Presidents and the animated Peter Rabbit 2: Rabbit on the Run, stand out among the proposals.

Cinemas reopened in France on May 19th, as did theaters and museums after almost seven months closed due to the pandemic and the restrictions adopted to deal with it.

According to the president of the National Federation of French Cinemas, Richard Patry, more than 11 million people have come to theaters since then, a remarkable figure for just six weeks.

'Compared to 2019, before Covid-19, we already have an attendance of more than 60 percent, which is in itself a success,' he commented.

Patry highlighted the public's interest in French feature films in particular, considering that American films traditionally dominate the market.
