Brasilia, Jul 20 (Prensa Latina) Cuba is currently the target of disinformation campaigns that seek to exaggerate the recent disturbances, as well as to contain them, to give way to a military invasion disguised as a humanitarian intervention.

Cuban Consul in Sao Paulo Pedro Monzon denounced this statement by answering questions over phone to Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper.

In response to those destabilizing actions, 'we do not use rubber bullets or water cannons on those violent individuals, as happens in Latin American or European countries. We simply arrest those who committed vandalism or attacked the police,' Monzon said.

According to the diplomat, there are very aggressive YouTubers in the United States, who are asking for an invasion od Cuba.

Regarding the United States' participation behind those actions, he replied that 'it is not a naive country. It wants to dominate and maintain its hegemony, even more that China rises and there are changes in Latin America, with the progress of leftist governments.'

Monzon remarked that the Cuban people will not accept this domination again. Now they used a lot of money and digital resources, such as robots, to promote hashtags such as #SOSCuba in the light of an alleged health crisis in Cuba, one of the countries that has best controlled the Covid-19 pandemic.
